Getting started with Doc Chat

Watch the recording below for a quick overview of how to use Doc Chat. Read on below for more details

Logging In

Go to app.nomad-data.com and login. Enter your credentials or if your organization uses SSO you may be taken to your internal login portal to authenticate. If you run into issues you may not yet be approved so reach out to your internal point of contact.

Uploading Files

To upload Files for chat you will need to:

  1. Go to the Nav Bar and choose the leftmost option (each organization tailors the interface to their needs, so you may see Folders, Claims, Cases, Interactions etc...). If there is a dropdown, then chose the top option.
  2. If you need to add a new entry, Click 'ADD NEW CLAIM' (or whatever your organization has tailored) in the top right. Specify a name and type. Once you add a new entry you will be taken into it.
  3. Click on the FILES tab and then the + button on the right.
  4. Choose a File Type.
  5. Choose Default as the Processing Type. If your File(s) have lots of tables, select 'Contain Tables' or reach out to your internal contact to better understand what Processing Type is right for your use case.
  6. You can drag-and-drop or browse to upload files. If you have a lot of files and want to create chats for specific folders, just drag/select a directory structure and it will be replicated in Nomad. We also support .zip file uploads if you have many documents.
  7. Given the size(s) of your File(s) it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to over an hour for a very large file.

Chatting with Files

  1. Click on DOC CHAT on the Nav Bar.
  2. Click NEW CHAT
  3. Make sure to choose the correct Preset based on the descriptions provided. If you have any questions on which Preset is right or want to create a new one, reach out to your internal point of contact.
  4. Choose the desired Claim, then either Select All or check off the individual File(s) you want to chat with.
  5. Click Save and follow the provided guidance to get started.

Chat messages can take anywhere from around 20 seconds up to many minutes depending on how much text generation is required and how many documents/pages were selected.
